Storyline :
What is illusion and reality?
Man and environment are changing. The inhabitants of a medium-sized city seek out an old abandoned printing hall on the edge of a wooded area - here they are promised to be able to learn more about themselves - but each visitor has to pay an individual price. A strange doorman welcomes the seekers and hands them each a key tailored to them. The opening of the magical door finally heralds a journey. The room as a mirror of themselves. Confronted with your hidden longings and fears, the border to reality becomes increasingly blurred.

The door is a visual and sound experience in which the unpredictability of the places and the actions of each character make it an exciting and extraordinary work.
Indeed, the director moves away from the stereotypes of the fantastic film to make a quasi-experimental and personal film, refined on the photographic level, without useless dialogues and on the contrary, concentrating on the general atmosphere.
We are clearly immersed in a surreal universe with elements (keys, tokens, earrings, umbrellas etc.) which provide access to a little-known world to different characters, men and women, of all ages.

The door, common element of all, is essential. It leads to the unexpected, fear and anguish of everyone but also to another dimension where it is no longer a question of rational. It is the reflection of soul and matter. A second life takes shape. What if the human being were nothing before crossing this door? It appears initially as an innocent and reserved species, somewhat robotic, in search of identity and emotions.

So are we facing real human beings or clones lost through a timeless matrix? The unreal mixes with the real. The term magical realism can be used. The fantastic aspect is no longer an illusion but a fact... The grayish aesthetic, these cold and disturbing hangars as well as the play of shadows and light reinforce this supernatural imagination. The warm ending music signals a personal accomplishment of the protagonists. Is the quest for self definitively resolved? The director puts this spiritual question on hold…
